A newly refurbished dining and kitchen area was successfully handed over at Ken Stimpson Community School on the 02nd May 2007. Bouygues UK took possession of the existing dance and music area at the beginning of November 2006. Since then the area has been stripped, extended and remodelled producing a modern, spacious kitchen/ dining facility.
The interior has been fitted with new kitchen/dining equipment and an exterior extension has been added creating a canopy effect, providing the school with an area for external seating. The new, modern facilities will provide the school with the ability to cater for approximately 1200 pupils daily, that is an increase of roughly 300 meals per day.
